Bangladeshi actress Mahiya Mahi has been arrested from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport after a case was filed against Mahi and her husband under the Digital Security Act (DSA).
As per the case statement revealed by the police, Mahiya Mahi, had used her Facebook page on Friday to share a live video making allegations against police.
On Saturday, according to reports, the Gazipur Metropolitan Police arrested the actress after she returned from Saudi Arabia. Mahi had left Bangladesh for a religious visit to the Makkah.
This is not the first time the actress got into trouble with the Bangladesh police. Previously two cases were filed against Mahi and her husband for allegedly defaming police after they went live on Facebook and alleged involvement in extortion, assault of a renowned businessman.
The recent case was filed under Digital Security Act against Mahi and her husband Rakib Sarkar while the businessman Ismail Hossain had lodged another FIR on Friday night with Bason Police Station against 28 people including the celeb couple on charges of assault, vandalism and forcefully occupying land.
However, as per reports, the popular actor managed to walk out of jail a few hours after being sent to prison as she secured bail in both cases. Incidentally, Mahi was nine months pregnant during the hearing of the bail petition.
