Actor Swarup Datta hospitalised due to illness

Veteran actor Swarup Datta is critically ill. The actor, who started his film career in late ’60s, was admitted in a city hospital after he suffered a stroke on Saturday.

Talking about his health, Swarup Datta’s son, director Saron Datta said, “He fell on Saturday and injured his head. We took him to a nearby hospital. There, the doctors found a clot in his brain. We immediately took him to a speciality hospital and his treatment started.”

On Monday, representatives of the west Bengal government paid a visit to the hospital. “Doctors are trying to stabilise his blood pressure and

blood sugar

level. Let’s hope for the best,” Saron added.
