Actor Santu Mukherjee, who was hospitalised on February 4 with respiratory distress, breathed his last this evening. The 68-year-old actor, who was keeping unwell for a long time, was under observation at a city hospital.
The veteran actor started his filmi career with Sansar Simante and went on to become a part of many popular feature films. He was last seen in the serial, Mohor.
He was also a popular face on Bengali television having being part of mega serials such as Phagun Bou, Ishti Kutum, Jol Nupur and Kusum Dola.
He is survived by his two daughters - Swatika Mukherjee and Ajopa Mukherjee.
