Ace Tollywood director says Rajamouli explored a blind spot in history with such a cinematic spectacle like ‘RRR’

SS Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’ continues to wow international critics and audiences. The epic saga which released on March 25 has shattered box office records worldwide. Several international filmmakers, critics and viewers have shared their excitement after watching the Ram Charan and Jr NTR starrer period action flick and the general sentiment is that of the sere amazement and awe it managed to inflict.Cine buffs are simply amazed by the scale of the film and that’s what makes National Award-winning filmmaker Goutam Ghose happy and at the same time proud and why not? The action extravaganza has been nominated for the Best Picture at the Hollywood Critics Association midseason awards.
“It feels great to see an Indian film will be competing alongside Top Cruise's Top Gun Maverick and Robert Pattinson's The Batman for the Best Picture at the Hollywood Critics Association awards. It is indeed a proud moment for Indian cinema. Just imagine the film’s popularity. It had to be re-released across the USA after the western moviegoers showered love on it. Even those who were once obsessed with Hollywood are now calling this film a miracle of some sort. Can you think of any other Indian cinema in recent past which managed to enjoy such popularity? I think Rajamouli has beautifully explored a blind spot in history for such a cinematic spectacle and this is by far his most ambitious film. I would love to see him making more and more films like RRR,” shared an excited Goutam Ghose.

RRR is a fictional depiction of the younger days of legendary freedom fighters, Komaram Bheem and Alluri Seetharama Raju, played by Jr. NTR and Ram Charan respectively. The mass entertainer is set in pre-independence India and also features Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Shriya Saran, Samuthirakani, Olivia Morris, Alison Doody, and Ray Stevenson in key roles.
