Academic results don’t always shape one’s career: Ekavali Khanna’s advice to son Vihaan

Academic results don’t always shape one’s career: Ekavali Khanna’s advice to son Vihaan
Actress Ekavali Khanna’s younger son, Vihaan, has secured a whopping 94% in the ICSC exams and the proud mother happier than ever. However, she is also instilling the thought that academic results do not always shape one’s career journey, in her son’s mind. Speaking to us, Ekavali and Vihaan talk about the feat, the celebrations and the road that lies ahead.
Ekavali: Vihaan has secured a 94% with a 100/100 in Commerce in his ICSE examinations.

The 10th board exam is a first formal milestone of sorts in a child’s academic journey. However, I believe these marks don’t determine the course of one’s journey. Academic results are just bonuses in life. Good health, kindness, a sense of responsibility, resilience, sincerity, passion, and conviction are what define a human being. Having said that, my advice to Vihaan is that he should follow his heart and pursue what inspires him. Despite scoring good marks in Commerce, he will be pursuing Humanities because he wants to be a filmmaker. Money, fame, and success follow if passion, discipline and the ability to adapt are areas of prime focus. My gift to him for his success remains pending because he cannot decide what he wants!
Vihaan: Appearing for the ICSE examinations in 2020 was a fruitful journey which not only tested my academic acumen but also my mental strength during the COVID-19 pandemic. And without a doubt, I have come out a stronger person which wouldn’t have been possible without my teachers’ and family’s support. As for the celebrations, I had a good dinner (North Indian menu featuring homemade kebabs) with my mother, brother, and staff who are like my family. My mother is traditional and like any other Kolkatan, associates good news with a lot of mishti! We gorged on a variety of sweets and distributed some too. It feels great to receive so many congratulatory calls and messages.
