Mahua Chakraborty’s upcoming ‘Blast’ is a hardcore action thriller with a social message. It revolves around the increasing threats of drugs, narcotics and terrorism. The story has been framed around the American Center attack in 2002. The action flick has been shot in Vizag, Kolkata and other places in Bengal and it also marks Tota Roychowdury’s return to commercial Bengali films after a gap of three years.

The cast also includes Bangladeshi actress Orin, Amrita Chatterjee, Debjani Chatterjee, director Mahua Chakraborty herself and others in key roles.
“The story has universal appeal. That’s why I said yes. I play the role of a professor here. There are so many fight sequences and I had a great fan while shooting.” said Tota Roychowdhury. Interestingly, a famous stunt director from south, Rajesh Kannan, has been roped in to take care of the fight sequences. Amrita Chatterjee will be seen as a middle-aged woman with two kids in this film produced by Trina Films.
