A film on key makers
Tollywood is soon going to churn out a tale of locks, keys and different people from various spaces locked in their surroundings. Chabiwala, written and directed by Raja Ghosh, is about key makers and their profession, which is obsolete in metros.
The film revolves around key makers Nagen and Bhaben. Nagen, the elder of the two, is bound by his responsibilities towards his wife and son; but he finds it hard to make ends meet.

Bhaben, on the other hand, sees the world through rose-tinted glasses. Both travel to Kolkata every day from a village called Palashpur, looking for work and more locked doors and safes. Bhaben, who comes to the city frequently, has one more agenda — he is also searching for Fatima, the only girl he has ever loved, and who was married off into a wealthier family. Bhaben knows that Fatima is in Kolkata but he doesn’t know where. However, he hopes that one day, he will bump into Fatima.
While Soumen Chakraborty plays Nagen, Bhaben’s character is essayed by Koushik Kar. Rahul Banerjee will be seen as the mysterious Bhukaram. “I am doing a guest appearance. Bhukaram, the character, appears frequently in Bhaben’s mental space,” said Rahul. The film also stars Amrita Chattopadhyay, Sohag Sen, Sankar Debnath, Subhasish Mukherjee, Dhritiman Chaterji and Monoshree Biswas. Music of the film is by Prasen
