A Comedy of chaos: Damadol

Filmmaker Manoj Michigan���s Damadol is a funny take on real-life situations and how the three protagonists cope with them
An ode to friendship, Damadol, directed by Manoj Michigan, is a chaotic comedy which revolves around three friends ��� Samadarshi Dutta, Shaheb Bhattacherjee and Rajdeep Gupta.
Saswata, who plays a don, Pappu bhai, in the film, said, ���A series of incidents that ensues between the three friends and me, results into a roller-coaster ride of mistaken identities and confusion.The dialogues too are smart and witty. Like when Aditya (Samadarshi) tries to convince Pappu bhai to produce a film for him, he says, ���Apniloss ey jaaben na, Los Angeles jaaben premiere ey���.���
Talking about the funny aspect of the film, Manoj explained, ���It���s a situational comedy interspersed with moments of drama, romance and unexpected twists. It is extremely difficult to make a comedy because what may be funny to one may not tickle the proverbial funny bone of the other. I thought we need to be very ���now��� in the portrayal of the characters and situations to which everybody can identify with. Situations arising in day-to-day life are twisted around to create a mess and in trying to solve them, one problem leads to another. The film does not have high-decibel laughter in every scene, but has a carefully measured dosage of varying intensities of humour befitting situations, characters, plot and scene. I wanted to make sure that if a particular scene is not funny enough, the viewer should still smile. I wish the viewer watches the film and comes out smiling.���
