A black-and-white play to be staged in Kolkata

is the flavour of the season in Kolkata and going by the trend, Ashokenagar Pratibimba has recently staged its new production, Khokada, at

Cultural Society. Directed and penned by Parthasarathi Raha, Sumanta Roy has played the lead in the production.

The play revolves around a character, called Khokada, played by Sumanta. The play depicts the nostalgia of 90s.

It is also an experimental project for Prithwish Rana, who has done the light and stage design. “It is an experimental work for me. In the 40-odd plays I’ve worked for as a sound and light person, I have never done such an intimate-space work. The entire play is designed in black and white. . There is a scene, where one of the characters smears blood on his face and that blood is also black. Our plan was to show the audience in the exact way they see things in a black-and-white film.
