Mimi opts out of Bibaho Obhijaan following Lok Sabha poll candidacy

Mimi Chakraborty, who was supposed to be part of Birsa Dasgupta’s Bibaho Obhijaan, has opted out of the film and has since been replaced by

Nusrat Faria

.
In a tweet revealing the development, Mimi wrote, “Recently it was announced that I would be a part of SVF's next film, Bibaho Obhijaan directed by Birsa Dasgupta. Since the announcement of my candidature this week for upcoming elections, I have, in due interest of the film and production team, decided to step down from the role. I feel it was necessary to honour my immediate commitments without disrupting the film production schedule. I wish the entire team of Bibaho Obhijaan much luck and success! Mimi. (sic)”

In reply, Birsa Dasgupta wrote, “We will miss you too Mimi. Here's team #BibahoObhijaan wishing you stupendous success in your new endeavour! We are and will always be one family (sic).”

Ankush, who was paired opposite Mimi, also tweeted that the team will miss her after the announcement.
Nusrat, who was last seen in Inspector Knotty K, is excited about this film. She told us, “I’m looking forward to work with this production house. I started my career with Ankush in Aashiqui way back in 2015 and again after a long time, I will be working with him again. I loved Gangster, which was directed by Birsa and I like the way he treats a film. I will be joining the team on March 28.”
Bibaho Obhijaan is the story of three couples, which all of us will be able to relate to. The drama that happens between each married couple is the essence of this romcom and how at the end of the day, it is love that binds them. Nusrat plays Rai — an armchair social activist who falls in love with Anupam (Ankush), a typical Bengali ‘bhalo chhele’ of Bhawanipore. And after six months of marriage, they realize the real madness of marriage! Rudranil Ghosh and Sohini Sarkar and Anirban Bhattacharya and Priyanka Sarkar play the other two couples.
