Kheya Chattopadhyay is feeling relaxed now that her Labrador retriever is keeping well after surgery recently. Kheya and her friend
Aditya Sengupta had adopted her in 2017.
“The last few days have been scary, but our brave daughter has made it comparatively easier. She had a pyometra operation that lasted for more than two hours. She remained calm before the surgery and was friendly towards her other sick friends who were waiting in line to be checked,” said Kheya.
She further added: “It broke my heart to see the sadness in her eyes before she went in for surgery. But the other beautiful pets and their parents kept me distracted during the procedure. After returning home, she sat upright throughout the night because the anesthesia was wearing off and she was becoming more aware and experiencing a lot of pain. She was drowsy but unable to lie down due to the stitches. Every time her paw slipped, she sat upright yet again. I too sat with her. She slept in the morning after being given a painkiller injection, and slowly but steadily, she is getting better.”
