Ankush already has quite a few interesting films in his lineup and now he’s set to play a special task force officer in debutant director Souvik Bhattacharjee’s film ‘

Mrigaya

’. The first-look poster is already out and it looks every bit intriguing. The submerged island in the background, the torn out missing posters floating in the water and a small hurdle of people on the beach ups the mystic atmosphere.

The story begins with five close friends disappearing on a vacation trip at a mysterious beach of Gokulpur. Does it sound simple? No, it isn’t simple as we move ahead to find out about different unpleasant, dark, and shady characters and their deeds. These five students are not just from rich prosperous and noble imposing families, but one of them has a political background and is a brother of a state youth minister. What happens then? Are they found out?

According to the director, this is a prequal story while script for the sequel has already been penned and will be shot after the post-production of ‘Mrigaya Chapter 1’.

Alongside Ankush, the cast of this upcoming thriller also includes Darshana Banik, Subrat Dutta, Bidipta Chakraborty, Biswarup Biswas, Suman Banerjee, Sayan Ghosh and others.

While Ankush plays Anjan Sengupta a Special Task Force (STF) cop called up to take charge of the missing case. Subrata Dutta plays a local police officer Inspector Maity while Darshana Banik will be seen as Ankush’s wife.

The story is by Souvik Bhattacharjee, script and screenplay co-written by Bishwajit Halder and Sourav Malakar. DOP Ripon Hossain while Sanglap Bhowmik will edit the film. The music is being composed by Dev Arijit and Rahul Majumdar. Anupam Roy will be lending his voice for one song.

It will be shot in and around Kolkata, Odisha, and suburbs. Filming starts on November 19.
