Goutam Ghose is all set to shoot his next film, a short, on the backdrop of pandemic and the subsequent lockdown.
Suman Mukhopadhyay and
Gargee RoyChowdhury will play the lead in the film and if all goes according to plan, filming will begin in March. While a big chunk of the film will be shot on Ajodhya Hills, in Purulia, the rest of it will be shot in Kolkata.
In the film, Suman, a poet and columnist, and Gargee, a teacher, will be seen as an urban educated couple who visits a village to take a break from the pressure of lockdown in the city.
The story of new normal is elaborated through their eyes. The story of seven-eight months will be presented in just a few minutes.
Meanwhile, after finishing the Italian leg of his upcoming film, Goutam Ghose was supposed to start shooting in India. However, that got stalled due to the outbreak of the pandemic. To use last year’s lockdown time well, the filmmaker started working on a new script. The film features Marco Leonardi, who played the teen years of Salvatore Di Vita in Giuseppe Tornatore’s iconic film, Cinema Paradiso. Besides, Italian actress Cristina Donadio will also be seen in a pivotal character.
