Actor
Gaurav Chakrabarty is the latest name from Tollywood to test COVID-19 positive as the list continues to grow. Earlier, his wife
Ridhima Ghosh had also tested positive for the dreaded virus. And, Gaurav who was last seen in the film ‘Ei Ami Renu’ feels life is throwing it’s choicest bouncers at us. You duck away from one, the other hits you square in the face. In an exclusive chat with ETimes, the popular actor shares how difficult the past few weeks have been for his family.
“This second wave of
Covid-19 has been devastating for our family. The dreaded virus has taken away two of our dearest. Ridhima’s mother succumbed, after a five day battle, passed away last month. I lost a mother and
Ridhima lost her lifeline. Then we lost my maternal grandmother. My loveable old Didu who lived in New Delhi is gone. In the midst of it all, Ridhima’s father caught the virus and gave us a huge scare. After days and nights of on and off oxygen support, he has finally shown signs of recovery. Just as we thought we were on the brink of tiding over all this, Ridhima and I have tested positive now,” shared the actor.
Despite all this negativity surrounding us Gaurav is trying his best to stay positive. “I know that a lot of you out there are going through tough times. Some are on the brink of losing hope. I want you to know that you are not alone. We might be in different boats, but we are all braving the same storm. Some wonderful people around us are lending a helping hand. It is not their job to do so. But they are! I would like to thank all of you who are doing even the slightest. Every inch goes a long way. Thank you for restoring my faith in mankind. At the end of it all, remember that this too shall pass,” he added.
However, the good news for the Chakrabarty family is Gaurav’s wife Ridhima’s temperature has subsided a bit although he is still down with high temperature.
