Gargee Roy Chowdhury who has floored us with her effortless acting time and again plays
Soumitra Chatterjee’s wife in director duo Sudeshna Roy and Abhijit Guha’s ‘Sraboner Dhara’ and she still recalls the sweet anecdotes from the shooting days. One particular incident is so special to the versatile actor that she still keeps sharing it with friends, family and colleagues.
“During the shoot of the film, there was one sequence in which I had to give a very mild but apt expression. After the shot, Soumitrada came and told me ‘good job’ and I was on cloud nine. I kept sharing this incident with my friends, family and colleagues till they were bored to death,” says an elated Gargee for whom the veteran actor is still the flamboyant hero from ‘Teen Bhuboner Pare’.
‘Sraboner Dhara’ deals with the problems today’s generation faces and the issues pertaining to the older generation. It also tells the story of people who take care of patients suffering from dementia or Alzheimer and their emotional attachment.
Soumitra plays a history professor Amitava Roy, an Alzheimer’s patient and
Parambrata Chatterjee essays a young doctor Nilabho Roy’s role. There is also a suspense element in the story. The mystery prevails whether Gargee is actually Soumitra’s wife or someone else.
The relationship drama which was recently screened at the Kolkata International Film Festival will soon hit the theatres.
