Srijit Mukherji whose next ‘Gumnaami’ is grabbing the headlines almost every day is supposed to make a

biopic

on Swapna Barman, who became India's first ever heptathlete to win a gold medal at the 2018 Asian Games.

Srijit had earlier announced Sohini Sarkar will be seen Swapna and she will soon start her rigorous workshop to prepare for the challenging role. Despite having six toes on each foot and facing several obstacles throughout her sporting career, the Bengali lady made India proud in the international arena through her immense hard work and dedication, the statement read further.

However, things are not looking good for the biopic. According to industry sources, Sohini will be undergoing a ligament operation soon. So it will be difficult for her to prep up for the sports biopic. Srijit is also planning to have a chat with Swapna Barman’s coach whether Sohini will be able to do a rigorous training post operation. The ‘Gumnaami’ director himself says this project is under the cloud for the time being.

Sohini had earlier admitted that she is a bit tensed about how well she will pull off a sports person’s character.

“Yes, this is one project I am really a bit scared now. Because not only the acting part, I also need to physically prepare myself for this character of an athlete. I have to tone up and develop more muscles and above all, look like an athlete and learn the sports,” the pretty actress said while speaking about the biopic.
