Priyanka Tridevi, who once acted in movies like ‘Yuddha’, ‘Hothat Brishti’, ‘Hello Memsaheb’, ‘Sangee’, ‘
Saathi
’ and more, is all geared up for her return to Bengali cinema after eight years. The
actress will play the female lead in
Sagnik Chatterjee’s debut film,
Master Anshuman, which is adapted from
Satyajit Ray’s novel by the same name.
Master Angshuman features Samantak Dyuti Maitra, Soumya Mukherjee,
Supriyo Dutta,
Rajatava Dutta,
Kanwaljeet Singh and others. The story is about a boy, Anshuman, who leaves his home for the first time and goes to Ajmer to act in a short film. In Ray’s story, the backdrop was
Udaipur
and Ajmer but for the film shooting will be done in Darjeeling and Kolkata. The director opted for Darjeeling as it has featured on innumerable times in Ray’s short stories.
Talking about her character, Priyanka said, “I play Madhabi Sen, an actress who is returning to the big screen after many years. So, I could well relate to the character.” She is already in Kolkata for the look test.
