Abir Chatterjee who plays the titular role in the film is also excited to share the news with his fans and followers. He took to his Facbook handle to share a long note.

“I was asked quite a few times why this film? Yes we couldn't afford to have a big release. Not many people have seen it & it's not there on any official online app or satellite channels too. But now when I see people reacting with so much enthusiasm when they see the film, I wish, if we could reach out to more people,” said the versatile actor.

He went on to add: “This is not an answer to skepticism, neither a validation. But reaffirms my old belief, an artist should do variety of roles. ‘Aami Joy Chatterjee’ wins best film at 3rd Bengaluru Bengali Kannada Film Festival by audience choice.
