Although Bappi Lahiri’s first Hindi break came in the film ‘Nanha Shikari’ way back in 1973 his foray into Bengali film music happened a year before with the 1972 film ‘Daadu’ and the rest is history giving hits and hits. His extensive credits in Bengali cinema will always be etched in our hearts. ). His music in the Uttam Kumar cult classic ‘Ogo Bodhu Shundori’ (1981) also became a huge hit.

Bappi Lahiri’s unforgettable music for the Prosenjit Chatterjee films will always be regarded as his best works. It started with ‘Amar Sangi’ (1987) and continues for years including the film ‘Aamar Tumi’.

The music sensation passed away at a Mumbai hospital on Tuesday night at the age of 69. He had been in the hospital for almost a month with several health issues. He was discharged on Monday; but a day later, his heath condition worsened and he had to be taken back to the hospital.
