Saswata Chatterjee,
Ritwick Chakraborty and Raima Sen in the lead received critical acclaims feels for the betterment of Bengali cinema, Tollywood needs more out-of-the-box creative contents. The actor-director’s point of view is quite interesting in context of regional cinema’s current position in National Awards.
“We directors always try to tell our stories in the best possible way. And when you are acknowledged for that effort through an honour like the National Award, it is truly overwhelming. It acts as a validation, proving that the path you are following to unfold your stories in front of the audience is honest. I feel Tollywood should come up with more out-of-the-box creative content. If presented well, it will definitely strike a chord with the audience,” said Churni whose debut directorial ‘Nirbashito’ had won the National Award for best Bengali film in 2014.
