Arindam Sil was recently in Kerala with his family and friends to enjoy a short vacation. He has been quite busy with the post-production of ‘Byomkesh Gowtro’ but he still took out 7 days from his schedule as he was interested in shooting the iconic

. But then out of nowhere all hell broke loose as Kerala was left devastated by the worst flood in the century.

“On August 8, when we arrived at Kochi airport, water was already gushing inside. The airport was shut down soon after we landed. It was raining heavily but who could have thought about the devastation! We actually wanted to enjoy the monsoon in Kerala, that’s why we decided about this particular time,” Arindam shared his horrible experience during a recent chat.

but due to the heavy landslides it was cut off by then. I was so disappointed to hear that the famous boat race was cancelled already because of the flood.

However, the director and his team visited few places like Kovalam and Kumarakom but while they were leaving Kerala the mayhem had already started. “We were in our flight from Thiruvananthapuram as the last destination was

. In Bengaluru we were advised to shift to the flight to Kolkata on the runaway. It was really a close save. I still recall the nature’s fury,” said Arindam Sil.
