Anirban Bhattacharya is a busy man. The powerhouse actor is making his directorial debut with ‘Mandar’ based on Macbeth. The film, starring
Sohini Sarkar, Debasish Mondal, Debesh Roychowdhury, Shankar Debnath and others, is being shot in the interiors of Mandarmani and Tajpur.
So, how does it feel to don the director's hat, we asked the actor. “Initially, I was suffering from lack of confidence because being a director is not just about being able to tell a story and having a sense of aesthetics.
It is also a lot about having basic technical knowledge. Which lens should be used in which shot, what does it mean to pan your camera left or right, what is the meaning of emptiness and so on. All these require some basic training that one gets in film schools. I don't have that training. But I am learning on the job. It has now become an exciting journey and I am really enjoying it,” explained Anirban.
Meanwhile, on the acting front, the popular actor will soon start shooting for
Birsa Dasgupta’s next film, a thriller titled ‘Psycho’ alongside Anirban Chakraborty, Chandreyee Ghosh and Payel Dey. In the cameo, there will be
Debesh Chattopadhyay, Soumya Sengputa and Madhurima Ghosh besides a host of actors debuting.
Anirban was last seen in
Srijit Mukherji’s thriller ‘Dwitiyo Purush’, a sequel to ‘Baishe Srabon’.
