Dwikhondito

is the story of a man suffering from

Dissociative Identity Disorder

. It revolves around Kaushik, played by Saswata Chatterjee, a writer who pens an intense drama revolving round a character called Bipin, who loses his wife, daughter and mother in violence arising out of a land dispute in his village. Soon after writing the story, Kaushik starts hallucinating about the various characters of the story and feels for them. Things go to such an extent that it became quite impossible for Kaushik’s wife Sumana, played by Anjana Basu, to handle things at home.
Finally, Kaushik is admitted in a hospital and Dr Dipa, played by Saayoni Ghosh, diagnoses him to be suffering from dissociative identity disorder. Sumana shares every detail of Kaushik with Dr Dipa so that it helps her treat Kaushik.
In the other part of the city, a struggling assistant director, Ritwick, played by Kaushik Kar, reads the story of Bipin in a newspaper and goes searching for Kaushik. He arrives on the doorsteps of Sumana and Kaushik and gets to know that the writer is extremely sick with something rare and unusual. What follows next is what the film is all about.
Dwikhondito is a strong drama with heavy overtones of psychology and thriller element in it. Anjana Basu, who plays Sumana in the film, told us that she loved playing the character, “It has a lot of shades to it. And the story itself is quite gripping. Scaring screen space with Saswata Chatterjee is always a pleasure,” she said.
