One of the most popular manga, Tenkaichi: The Greatest Warrior under the Rising Sun, is finally getting an anime adaptation. The franchise shared a visual featuring Musashi Miyamoto Tadakatsu Honda. The bag has been written by Yosuke Nakamura and is illustrated by Lyotaro Azuma.
As of now, the release date and other details of the anime adaptation have not been revealed. Speculations are that the anime will make its debut in 2026. Tenkaichi: The Greatest Warrior under the Rising Sun is set in the Sengoku period of Japan. The story starts with Oda Nobunaga, one of the most robust warlords of Japan who unified the whole nation.
He decides that a larger-than-life martial art tournament will decide who is going to be the ruler of Japan. All the warlords were asked to send one of their greatest warriors to represent them. Now, the people will get to see some of the most fierce warriors locking horns in a match that can even make them kiss death.
And this is something pretty close to Kengan Ashura, if you have watched the Netflix anime. In the mentioned anime, their is an underground Kengan tournament where the new age businessmen send their best fighters to claim the position of Kengan organization's head. Now, convert the setting in the 1600s and change elements like characters, warlords, and more - you have Tenkaichi.
Some of the most important characters in the manga are Odu Nobunaga - the OG behind Japan's unity, Yagyu Munenori - the face of Tokugawa clan, Tadakatsu Honda - one of Tokugawa's four heavenly kings, and Miyamoto Musashi - the Greatest warrior of all time.
