American supermodel Alton Mason wears Jojo's Bizarre Adventure inspired fit at Met Gala 2025

American supermodel Alton Mason did a Jojo reference at the Met Gala 2025! If you have an internet connection, you already know that the Met Gala happened on May 5. We’ve all seen celebrities wearing the most bizarre outfits on the red carpet.

But one of the very few male supermodels, Alton Mason, literally wore a bizarre outfit. That is, he wore an outfit that was inspired by Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure. And Jojo’s is a perfect choice to wear at such an event. Every single character in the series is basically a runway model and not just because of their clothes, but because of their whole aesthetics.

While it was already clear to fans that the outfit was inspired by Jojo’s, just by looking at the fit. Alton also did an interview with Teen Vogue where he confirmed the same. When asked by the interviewer about his outfit, he replied, “I have a favourite anime. It’s called JoJo, and this is an ode to it. Giorno Giovanna has a cut out so I decided to include that.”

When you see his outfit under the large overcoat, the inspiration seems pretty evident. The heart-shaped cutout exposing his chest is one-to-one like the outfit that Giorno Giovanna from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 5: Golden Wind wears.

Alton Mason is an American model and a pioneer in the fashion world. He is the first black man to walk the runway at Chanel. And Giorno Giovanna is probably the most fashionable Jojo out there in the anime. The suit with that cleavage and that hair, he looks fresh! So this Alton x Giorno was always going to be a hit.
