A celebration of talent and achievement in Bengali Cinema
The Joy Filmfare Awards Bangla 2025, held on March 18 at JW Marriott, Kolkata, was a star-studded celebration of Bengali cinema. The title sponsor of the event was Joy Personal Care, and was co-presented by Lalbaba Rice. Co-powered by Manforce and Attica Gold Company, the associate partners of the event were Royal Enfield, Tanishq, The Bhawanipur Design Academy, The House of McDowell’s Soda and Nimulid Strong. SVF was the digital partner of the dazzling night.
Bohurupi won the Best Film award, while Chaalchitra Ekhon and Manikbabur Megh shared the Best Film (Critics’) award. Anjan Dutt and Chandan Sen took home Best Actor (Critics’) while Mamata Shankar bagged Best Actress (Critics’). Nandita Roy and Shiboprasad Mukherjee clinched Best Director for Bohurupi, and Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Subhashree Ganguly won Best Actor in a leading role (Male) and Best actor in a leading role (Female) for Bohurupi and Babli, respectively. Subhankar Mohanta was awarded Best Debut Male for Mon Potongo, and Baishakhi Roy and Idhika shared Best Debut Female for Mon Potongo and Khadaan. Monami Ghosh, Tanika Basu, Sawon Chakraborty, and Silajit Majumder won in their respective categories in supporting roles. Veteran actor Biswajit Chatterjee received the Lifetime Achievement Award.
