BUNDI: Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Sunday targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing him of working for businessman Gautam Adani “round-the-clock” and stressed the need for conducting caste census as “50% of the country’s population comprising Dalits, tribals, OBCs and the poor are taking only 5 per cent of the decisions in the system”. He was addressing a public meeting in favour of party candidates Ashok Chandana, Harimohan Sharma and CL Premi at Bundi Ka Gothra village in Bundi district of Rajasthan.

Lashing out at the PM, Rahul alleged that Modi waived loan of Rs 14 lakh crore of the biggest “Arabpatis of Hindustan” and asked how many of them (among the Arabpatis) were Dalits, tribals or OBCs.

“Narendra Modi gave gift of Rs 14 lakh crore to his 20-25 friends and all of you could do nothing,” he said. “He (Modi) stole money from your pocket through GST and gave the same to his friends while the Congress government in Rajasthan met lots of the requirements of the people for free,” he added.

Instead of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’, PM Modi should say ‘Adani Ji Ki Jai’ because he works for the latter, Rahul claimed. He also accused the PM of wanting to make two ‘Hindustans’, one for Adani and the other for the poor.
