BJP is ‘hit wicket’, Priyanka replies to PM Modi’s ‘run out’ jibe

The political campaign in Rajasthan for the November 25 assembly elections saw the use of cricket metaphors. Congress general secretary, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, accused the BJP of being a "hit wicket" in the state, in response to PM Modi's remarks the previous day, which alleged that various factions within Congress were attempting to run each other out. She claimed that the BJP had already lost due to the absence of a suitable party leader in Rajasthan.

AJMER/JAIPUR: The political discourse took on cricket metaphors ahead of the November 25 assembly elections in Rajasthan, with Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra alleging Monday that BJP is already a “hit wicket” in the state, responding to PM Modi’s remarks from the previous day that various factions within Congress are attempting to run each other out.
She asserted that BJP has already lost its wicket due to the absence of a state party leader in Rajasthan suitable for the chief ministership.

“BJP has deteriorated the elections to a level where they just talk about India-Pakistan, Hindu-Muslim, and caste to get votes,” she alleged.
