Both country and Congress accept PM Modi's challenge, says Pramod Tiwari

ALLAHABAD: In response to PM's remarks on late PM Rajiv Gandhi, senior Congress leader

Pramod Tiwari

said he is afraid of defeat in Lok Sabha elections and crossed all limits of propriety and decency by defaming the late former PM who laid down his life for the country.

Claiming that PM Modi made a self-goal for his party, Tiwari said this would be denting party’s prospects in the remaining two phases.

He said PM Modi had not only insulted him but also challenged to fight remaining two phases on his name. He, however, claimed that both the country and party has accepted the PM's challenge.

At a rally in Pratapgarh recently, took a jibe at Rajiv Gandhi, the former Prime Minister, calling him “Bhrashtachari No 1”.

Tiwari said “ while BJP is contesting elections on the legacy of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, Pt Deen Dayal Upadhaya, and Atal Bihari Vajpayee, similarly Congress too has been contesting polls on the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi, Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi."

He claimed that It was former PM Rajiv Gandhi who brought revolution into the field of information and technology, lowering of the voting age to 18, Panchayati Raj act, and reservation for women, dalit and backwards.

“The trends making it clear that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not becoming PM again and seeing this, he has intentionally made a self goal so that no other leader from BJP could become the Prime Minister “ claims Tiwari He added that the "people of the country would not forgive PM Modi for his remark on the former PM."

Meanwhile, AN Singh, former MLA said the real face of PM Modi would be exposed if a probe is being conducted into the projects and works carried out during his chief ministership regime in Gujarat.
