Uttam Kumar Reddy: KCR didn’t get any benefit for Telangana from Centre
HYDERABAD: Telangana Congress president N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Monday appealed to the people to vote for Congress and make Rahul Gandhi the Prime Minister. “It is important to save the country from communal forces and Congress is a secular party which follows and believes in equality for people of all religions, regions, caste, creed and colour,” he said at the public meeting in Huzurnagar in Nalgonda constituency, from where he is contesting.
Stating that he (Uttam) and his wife (Padmavathi) have dedicated their lives for the cause of people of Telangana, Uttam said: “We don't have children.
You all are our children. Don’t trust Modi and KCR as they have failed to fulfil their promises.”
“If I am voted to represent you in the Lok Sabha, I will fight and get 10% reservations for STs and 12% for Muslims in Telangana. I will raise my voice in the Parliament to get all the benefits such as rail coach factory, Bayyaram steel factory and tribal university in Telangana as promised in the State Reorganisation Act,” he added.
Hitting out at CM KCR over Federal Front, Uttam said there are 545 seats in Lok Sabha and what would KCR achieve with 16 MP seats. “KCR had 16 MPs on his side from 2014 to 2019, but he did not get any benefits for the state from the Centre. I promise that the Congress will give national status to one of the irrigation projects in the state after which 90% funding to the project would be done by the Centre,” Uttam said FI .
