Chief electoral officer Rajat Kumar said the highest number of nominations, 245, were filed in Nizamabad followed by Secunderabad and Nalgonda. The CEO’s office also published the supplementary rolls to the final rolls as the number of electors has almost touched three crore.

“We have received around 245 nominations in Nizamabad. In all constituencies, the returning officer will verify the nominations and after acceptance and rejection, we will decide on going for EVM or postal ballot depending on the number of contestants. We will come to know about the number of contestants only on March 28, the last day for withdrawal of nominations,” said Rajat.

Regarding the model code of conduct, he said a complaint was filed by the VHP against chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao charging him with hurting the sentiments of the Hindu communitys. “We verified the video of the speech and found that there was no violation,” he added.
