PM Narendra Modi rips into Congress with ‘hua to hua’ barbs
INDORE
: Prime Minister Narendra Modi played onSam Pitroda
’s words ‘hua to hua’ to corner Congress on several issues — including the Sikh riots, farm loan waiver inMadhya Pradesh
, “attack on country’s traditions”, coining of the phrase ‘Hindu terror’ and theBhopal
gas tragedy — at an election rally in Khandwa on Sunday. While voting was on in Bhopal and seven other constituencies, PM Modi launched into a scathing attack on Congress and
Mahagathbandhan
, accusing them of “rewarding people guilty in people’s eyes of the 1984 Sikh riots”.“And Congress’s truth is, on the 1984 Sikh atrocities mass killings, ‘hua to hua’,” the PM said. “In Bhopal, thousands of people were subjected to toxic gas. Several generations were lost. People responsible for it were allowed to flee in government planes. If you ask them, they will say ‘hua to hua’,” Modi said.
Modi alleged that Congress’s “appeasement policy and weakness” led to a surge in terrorism before 2014. “Today, they are saying ‘hua to hua’,” he said. The PM said the Congress government had banned singer Kishore Kumar (who was born in Khandwa) on radio during Emergency because he stuck to his ideals. “And Congress says ‘hua to hua’,” he said.
He claimed that there are “2.5 CMs in Madhya Pradesh”. “The administration does not know whose orders to follow. Goons, murderers and dacoits are given free licence. The administration is being used for the benefit of different groups. In the name of industry, only transfer industry is up and running. If one party’s khichdi can cause this mess, imagine what the khichdi of two dozen parties will do in Delhi, and what will they do to the country,” he remarked, and added, “Be warned of people with ill intentions. If they get any opportunity, they will put India’s security at risk. The first condition of development is safety. A mahamilawati and khichdi government can never keep this country safe.”
PM Modi accused Congress of using people’s money for poll campaigning. “They have ill intentions. They lie to you. Your money has been spent in poll campaigning. The money released by Centre for nutrition of tribal women and children was given by them (Congress) to naamdars for poll campaigning,” he alleged.
