LS polls: Alok Sanjar files nomination as 'dummy' candidate from Bhopal
BHOPAL: Incumbent BJP MP,
Sanjar, filing his nomination assumes significance in the light of back-to-back notices served to Sadhvi Pragya by the Election Commission for inflammatory speeches. An FIR has also been lodged against her at the behest of Election Commission for her statement on the Babari Mosque demolition.
State BJP chief spokesperson, Depak Vijayvargiya, when asked why Sanjar was asked to file nomination by the party, said, "It is a normal process. One or more dummy candidates fill the form everywhere so that if the form of the official candidate is rejected on some technical ground or due to some legal hassle, you have an alternative candidate to fall back upon."
