Lok Sabha elections: Priyanka likely to hit Madhya Pradesh campaign trail in 3rd phase

BHOPAL: Congress general secretary, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is likely to campaign for the third phase of

Lok Sabha elections

in MP. Party leaders said she is expected to visit the state around May 5.

Lok Sabha elections are scheduled in

Madhya Pradesh

in four phases on April 29, May 6, May 12 and May 19. Polling in 15 out of total 29 seats would take place in MP during the third and fourth phase.

The seats where elections are scheduled in state on May 12 are Morena, Bhind, Gwalior, Guna, Bhopal, Sagar, Vidisha and Rajgarh while in last phase of polls on May 19 polling be held on Dewas, Ujjain, Mandsaur, Ratlam, Indore, Dhar,

Khargone

and Khandwa LS seats. The state party unit said her programme is not finalised yet, but, indications are that she would address rallies in Mandsaur and

Neemuch

. There is a demand from leaders across the state to get Priyanka to campaign for them. Priyanka- the AICC in charge of eastern UP, is campaigning extensively for the party in this polls across UP. Mandsaur is important ahead of polls since six farmers were killed there in police firing during protests in June 2017. Congress president Rahul Gandhi visited Mandsaur in June last year to pay tributes to six farmers who died in the police firing.
