BHOPAL: A war of words has ensued between the state BJP and ruling Congress over AICC president
Rahul Gandhi's statement that Prime Minister
Narendra Modi "kicked-out" his guru and former deputy PM LK Advani from the podium.
Reacting strongly to Rahul Gandhi's comment, former chief minister
Shivraj Singh Chouhan told reporters on Saturday, "Rahul Gandhi and his Congress party do not have any culture and use ghatia bhasha (undignified language) and ghatia shabdo (undignified words)."
Launching a scathing attack on the Congress national president, Chouhan further said, "In the democratic history of India, if there is a leader who used unparliamentary words and disregards courtesy, then it is Rahul Gandhi.
All I can say is that if you spit at the Sun, then it will come down on you."
Replying to Chouhan, state Congress media committee chairperson Shobha Oza said, "When Shivraj Singh Chouhan used the word ghatia (undignified), it only betrays his culture and background. Congress party does not have to learn culture and dignity from the BJP whose national president is a tadipar (fugitive). Chouhan is unnerved because of the way he is being treated in his own party. And, today BJP is distressed with Narendra Modi and its party president
Amit Shah."
On Saturday, AICC president Rahul Gandhi while addressing a public meeting in Haridwar said, "Narendra Modiji speaks about Hinduism. The main tenet of Hindu religion is respect for the guru. Advaniji is Narendra Modi's guru. Have you seen Advaniji's condition these days? The veteran has been kicked-out of the dais."
