The counting of votes will take place on May 23.

All the 29

Lok Sabha seats of Madhya Pradesh

are expected to witness a direct clash between two main rival parties Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

In the last Lok Sabha elections, BJP had a vote share of 54 per cent by winning 27 seats, whereas Congress managed to get a vote share of 35.5 per cent by bagging just 2 seats.

Bahujan Samaj Party, however, could not win any seat.

After failing to form government in Madhya Pradesh in the recently held assembly elections, BJP would like to bounce back in these

Lok Sabha polls

whereas the election result would act as a referendum for CM Kamal Nath and ruling Congress party in the state.

Both parties have so far declared candidates for 24 seats of which 15 seats were cleared by the BJP and nine by the Congress party.
