Ex-minister Bhaiyya Lodhi ‘rejoins’ Congress

and his son Dinesh joined the Congress on Wednesday in the presence of senior Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia at Bombay Kothi in

Shivpuri district

. Lodhi told media that he was feeling ‘suffocated’ in the BJP.

Bhaiyya Lodhi had left Congress in 1988 to join BJP. He then moved to Uma Bharati's Bharatiya Janashakti Party in 2008, but returned to BJP after losing assembly elections.

BJP's district president Sushil Raghuvanshi said that Lodhi always had the mindset of Congressman, and his desertion will not have any impact on the party.
