Congress, BJP may field fresh faces from Dewas

INDORE: Its race for fresh faces in Dewas, where multiple aspirants from both Congress and BJP are eyeing tickets, for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Numerous new names are trending from both BJP and Congress in Dewas putting state party heads in a fix on deciding the ticket, sources close to the development said.

said, "This time all the aspirants seeking tickets are fresh faces. There are a few who lost assembly elections in past and want to try their fate in the general election."

A few aspirants seeking ticket from BJP are Manish Solanki, Mahendra Solanki, Chandrashekhar Malviya and Suraj Kero, party sources said.

The priority of national leadership is to hunt for a fresh face over old guards. BJP and Congress have sent names of potential candidates from the state to their Central Election Committees. A dozen of seats have single names, while the remaining have multiple choices, sources said.

Dewas district Congress president Manoj Rajani said, "There are many aspirants, who want to try their fate in the Lok Sabha polls. Since senior leadership is wishing to field a new face, priority will be certainly given to them."

From Congress, the names trending for the Lok Sabha ticket are folk singer Prahlad Singh Tipaniya, PWD minister

Sajjan Singh Verma

's son Pawan Verma, Arjun Verma and Gopal Engineer, sources said.

Dewas parliamentary constituency covers eight assembly seats and is reserved for scheduled caste.
