BHOPAL: The BJP on Tuesday said that the election manifesto of the Congress is an attack on national security. State BJP president Rakesh Singh said that the

seems to humiliate the country's Army. He said, "The promises made in the Congress manifesto regarding national security and sensitive issues like Kashmir suggest that the party is trying to contest the Lok Sabha election with the help of Pakistan and separatists of Kashmir. The manifesto promises abolition of sedition rules under Section 124-A, which shows that Congress is hands-in-glove with the traitors."

He said that the Congress has insulted and demoralised the Indian Army by promising to review the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) and restrictions on the powers of security forces in Kashmir. "It seems that Congress has joined hands with terrorists and separatists in Kashmir", he said.

The BJP leader said that Congress has promised to hold unconditional talks with separatists in Kashmir. "The manifesto states that the proposal to amend AFSPA 1958 is aimed at striking a balance between the powers of security forces and the human rights of citizens and to remove immunity for enforced disappearance, sexual violence and torture. This is a bid to insult the armed forces", he said.

Singh said that the manifesto has no mention of issues like rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits and Pakistan-sponsored terrorism. "Recently Facebook deleted some pages linked to Congress for 'coordinated inauthentic behaviour' against Modi government. It seems that Congress is hatching a big conspiracy against the country", said Singh.

He said that Congress has a history of spreading lies and making false promises. The party's sympathy for farmers has also been exposed with the failure of farm loan waiver scheme in the state.
