BHOPAL: Campaigning for the Bhopal Lok Sabha seat, which has turned into a battle of nerves between Digvijaya Singh and Pragya Thakur, had a funny moment on Monday when a Modi bhakt stumped the Congress heavyweight.
Digvijaya was addressing a crowd in Berasia when he asked people to raise their hands if “anyone had got the Rs 15 lakh promised by PM Narendra Modi”. A man in a pink shirt raised his hand, and Digvijaya invited him on stage, saying: “Aajao beta, idhar aajao.
Come give us your account number, and we will felicitate you.”
The man took the mike, and cheekily said: “Modiji ne air strike ki aur atankwadiyon ko mara (Modiji carried out surgical strike and killed terrorists).” Digvijaya, veteran of many a battle, seemed stumped for a moment before smiling and playfully pushing the youth. Still smiling impishly, ‘pink shirt’ was led away from the dais by a Congress worker and given a goodbye shove. There was laughter all around.
Digvijaya called out after him: “Oye, surgical strike. Did you get Rs 15 lakh in your account or not?” And then a little later, “Gulabi shirt, rozgar mila ki nahi mila (did you get a job)?”
