BHOPAL: As the politics hots up with the Congress announcing former chief minister
Digvijaya Singh’s candidature from Bhopal, Jaivardhan Singh, his son and minister in MP cabinet, exuded confidence.
“The BJP is scared of my father,” said Jaivardhan, MP’s urban development minister. Describing Congress president
Rahul Gandhi as the future prime minister of India, Jaivardhan said he had no inkling that his father would be fielded from the state capital for the Lok Sabha polls.
When reminded that just a month back he had driven down the city roads taking note of the bad roads in the city and the poor condition of the heritage structures, Jaivardhan dismissed it as mere coincidence. “ It was just a coincidence. I never had any clue about my father’s ticket,” he quipped.
During his tour of the city, Jaivardhan had instructed to construct roads in several areas of Bhopal. He also took up the issue of chaos in the BRTS corridor. If the chaos persist, the BRTS corridor would be demolished and the work will begin from Bairagarh.
On BJP’s ‘Bantadhar’ jibe for his father, Jaiwardhan said that: “Actually, BJP has indulged in Bantadhar of the state through scams like Vyapam and killing farmers in Mandsaur.”
