Bhopalis will avenge injustice done by Digvijaya as CM, says Uma Bharti
BHOPAL
: Union minister and BJP leader Uma Bharti, who had played an important role to topple the Congress-led Digvijaya Singh government inMadhya Pradesh
in 2003, is ready to remind the public against the failures and hurdles created by him as chief minister of the state.Bharti has announced that she will campaign passionately against Digvijaya in Bhopal, though she refused to contest the polls against him.
The Union minister, who refused to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha polls and recently appointed by the party leadership as the national vice-president, attacked the Congress stalwart in a series of tweets.
“Any BJP cadre will defeat Digvijaya Singh. But my aim is to make the public aware and recall the impediments created in welfare schemes under his chief ministership. He had refused to bring Narmada water to Bhopal and dubbed the scheme as a big failure. When I came to power, I made the scheme successful”, Bharti said.
“When I had announced to name Bhopal airport after Raja Bhoj, Digvijaya did not turn up at the function held by the then BJP government only because he was not happy with the decision. Now, the time has come to punish him for his misgivings. The people of Bhopal will avenge the injustice done to them by defeating him with a huge margin”, tweeted Bharti.
The state BJP dubbed Digvijaya’s nomination from Bhopal as ‘Bantadhaar Returns’ and stated that the sobriquet would haunt Digvijaya again and this election would be a lifetime lesson for him.
