Shailendra Sharma (40), a resident of Mhow in Dhar parliamentary constituency, was the first to file

nomination

. Sharma has sought for poll symbol of diamond, flute and bat.

Sharma was followed by 59-year-old Parmanand Tolani, who claims to have contested at least seven Lok Sabha elections, just to continue legacy of his father Methram Tolani. He is a resident of Veer Sawarkar Nagar.

“My father had contested over 10 elections between 1950 and 1988 in his life,” said Tolani claiming that he had contested 18 major elections including eight assembly polls.

“I have never tested victory. But, this time I have bright chances to win since Tai (Sumitra Mahajan) has not been given ticket and the candidates fielded by BJP and Congress are not that much active,” Tolani said. He urged the election office to allot him an election symbol from three choices – pen nib with seven rays, a farmer riding a tractor and biscuit.

The third

candidate

to

file

nomination was 61-year-old Nasir Mohammed of Ushaganj in Chhawani area. He filed kite, palm tree and ladder as his three choices for election symbol.
