Sumalatha Ambareesh is misleading voters: HD Kumaraswamy
BENGALURU: In a flurry of tweets, chief minister HD Kumaraswamy hit back at Sumalatha Ambareesh, who is contesting against his son Nikhil in Mandya constituency, for claiming that he went ahead with the Rs 45,000-crore loan waiver scheme against the advice of a senior bureaucrat.
The CM said the “independent” was trying to mislead people of Mandya and create confusion among farmers.
“Over the last two budgets of this government, the state has taken a decision with a long term vision of ensuring that the farmers are safeguarded. However, by making false claims that the additional chief secretary of finance had opined that the loan waiver scheme was detrimental to the exchequer, the candidate is trying to mislead the people,” the CM tweeted. Urging Sumalatha to “cross check” facts, he said information on loans waived is in public domain.
