The EC has appointed PU director PC Jaffer, who is also the commissioner, department of public instruction (DPI) as the new DC of Mandya.
Speaking to the TOI, chief secretary TM Vijay Bhaskar confirmed that Manjushree has been replaced with Jaffer.
This comes two days after the EC replaced the general observer Ranjeeth Kumar in an extraordinary move.
According to the transfer order issued by the state government, the step has been taken as per the direction of the Election Commission of India (ECI). The above officers are directed to report to the transferred posts immediately. Manjushree is not shown any posting as per the order.
