H D Kumaraswamy begins campaign for son, seeks people’s help to teach trollers a lesson
MANDYA
: Chief minister H D Kumaraswamy on Wednesday launched the campaign for his son Nikhil from Srirangapatna taluk where his party JD(S) is facing internal troubles. Former MLA Ramesh Bandisiddegowda had already indicated that he would support actor Sumalatha and not Nikhil. Ramesh was with JD(S) and switched over to Congress a year back and contested the polls but lost to JD(S).He said that Nikhil is well-versed in Hindi. “Nikhil is capable of bringing good reputation to Mandya people. Support him and ensure his victory and teach a befitting lesson to those who are trolling us on social media,” he said.
He held a road show which started from Krishnarajasagara and passed through various villages. During the road show, Kumaraswamy also took complaints from people seeking his help on various problems.
Meanwhile, Sumalatha, farmer leader Darshan Puttannaiah and actors Darshan and Yash campaigned at different places. Darshan held campaign in K R Nagar, Yash was in Maddur taluk and Sumalatha campaigned in Pandavapura taluk.

warns journalists of attack from his partymenAt Krishnarajasagara, Kumaraswamy lost his cool and warned journalists that he shouldn't be held responsible if journalists were attacked by his party workers. Kumaraswamy’s warning perplexed the journalists who were present on the spot. The CM, however, did not give any plausible explanation for the warning to journalists.
Mandya police has registered an FIR against district incharge minister C S Puttaraju and Congress leader G Madegowda pertaining to leaked audio clip wherein Madegowda demanded money from Puttaraju for oll related matters. Based on complaints of election officers, a case was registered in Mandya East police station.
