SHIMLA: Himachal Pradesh chief minister Jai Ram Thakur on Saturday said Prime Ministerial dreams of the opposition parties would never be fulfilled because people had decided to vote for Narendra Modi as the PM once again. He added that despite ruling the country for over five decades, the Congress had not been able to strengthen the image of the country.
The CM stated this at a public meeting at Sarahan in Pachhad Assembly constituency of Sirmaur district on Saturday.

Thakur said this was clear from the Congress manifesto that it wanted to strengthen the anti-national forces and not the nation as the party had talked of reducing the law against sedition and the Army. He said such promises of the Congress would demoralise the Army. He added that PM Modi had given the country an efficient and strong leadership, which has resulted in the country's name being elevated in the world. "India is getting Congress free and it is clear that Narendra Modi will again form government at the Centre."
The CM said in the Lok Sabha elections, no Congress leader wanted to fight election in Himachal Pradesh due to the fear of defeat and those who were in the fray were saying they were contesting merely to fulfill the orders of the party high command and not at their own will.
Jai Ram Thakur said the Modi government had initiated several welfare schemes for the people that had benefited every section of society. He added that while on one side India's 50 crore population had been provided free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh under Ayushman India scheme, on the other crores of women got rid of kitchen smoke due to free gas connections provided under the Ujjwala scheme.
