district recently. The EC has asked him to reply within 24 hours of receiving the notice.


Remarks of Satti has already left Congress workers agitated, who held protest demonstrations across the state on Tuesday.

Chief electoral officer Devesh Kumar said that for using derogatory remarks against Congress president Rahul Gandhi, Himachal Pradesh BJP President Satpal Singh Satti has been served upon a notice for violation of model code of conduct by district election officer, Solan .

Devesh Kumar said that the Election Commission of India has taken strict cognizance of the unwanted remarks by the state BJP president. He said that based on the reports of district election officer, Solan, the Election Commission of India has been informed of the action taken in the matter. He said that an FIR under section 294 (IPC) has been registered against the BJP president at Baddi police station.

Similarly, on the complaint filed by state BJP against Advocate Vinay Sharma of Dharamshala for posting objectionable remarks on his Facebook page, district election officer, Kangra has been directed to thoroughly probe into the matter and submit the findings immediately.
