SHIMLA: Himachal Pradesh chief minister
Jai Ram Thakur claimed on Monday that some Congress leaders had been pressuring seniors in their party, including former chief minister Virbhadra Singh, to issue misleading statements while campaigning for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Though Thakur was not specific while making the claim, he said it was “very unfortunate” that these leaders were trying to dictate terms to an experienced leader of Virbhadra Singh’s stature.
Like central leaders of the BJP, he invoked the BJP’s aim of a “Congress-mukt Bharat”. Thakur was speaking at a public meeting in Dehar village of Mandi.
He said that though everyone had the right to express his or her views in democracy, a few Congress leaders were giving the wrong feedback to their high command and Virbhadra.
Thakur added that the BJP would win all four Lok Sabha seats in Himachal Pradesh.
