Slips not distributed in Muslim areas, says Congress
One day before the state votes, the Congress complained to the chief electoral officer that voter slips have not been distributed in minority-dominated and poor localities of Ahmedabad. The district collector claimed that these slips had been distributed by Monday evening.

The letter stated that although residents of these localities filed complaints with the office of the district election officer, no action was taken and they had not received their slips until 2pm on Monday. All 26 LS seats in Gujarat will vote on Tuesday.
Gujarat chief electoral officer S Murali Krishna said, "I have asked the Ahmedabad DEO to inquire into the complaint and have instructed that all possible action be taken."
Ahmedabad district election officer (DEO) and collector Vikrant Pandey said these voter slips were distributed in by Monday evening. "Voter slips in certain sections came from printing on Sunday and have been distributed. All slips in the said areas were distributed by today (Monday) evening. I have also spoken to MLA Gyasuddin Sheikh and Balubhai Patel from the Congress, who had raised this issue. All those whose names are on the voter list can vote using any valid ID proof," he said.
